Pure genius or bare-face robbery?

The original source of this is said to be the Bristol Evening Post in June 2009. I have not checked it out – and I don’t think it really matters anyway. I have adjusted words, where appropriate, to provide an appropriate tense. I leave it to you to draw your own conclusions. It says/said: Outside Bristol Zoo is a car park, with spaces for 150 cars and 8 coaches. It had been manned 6 days a week for 23 years by the same charming and very polite car park attendant with the ticket machine. The charges were stable at £1per car and £5 per coach.
On Monday 1 June he did not turn up for work so Bristol Zoo management phoned Bristol City Council to ask them to send a replacement parking attendant.
The Council said “That car park is your responsibility.” The Zoo said “The attendant was employed by the City Council… wasn’t he?” The Council said “What attendant?”

Gone missing from his home was a man who had been taking daily the car park fees amounting to about £400 per day for the previous 23 years…!
That’s £125k per year- with no tax deductions!

A new adventure

For the past 15 years I have been telling stories to groups of all sizes. This has involved a lot of driving and some quite late nights. 2014 is a time of change and what is more sensible than putting the things I have been talking about on blogs.  It will happen – and quite soon.  Just keep a watch.
